Equipped for Hiking in the Velocity Top: Hiking Top Review

The is my second year as an ambassador for Stonewear Designs, and their Spring line has some hike-perfect items that have me pretty excited. Available in five gorgeous colors, the Velocity Top is made from a silky smooth, almost heathered appearance space-dye fabric. And it’s definitely something to get excited about.

When I’m headed to the gym, I most often reach for one of Stonewear’s signature support tops with an internal bra. But for many other activities, especially outdoor exercise or just recreation, I like having other options.  The Velocity Top is a new favorite in that category.

It’s made from moisture-wicking fabric, but without the built-in sports bra, and it has a looser, very comfortable fit.  This top has a flattering cut, with the contrasting colored gray cap sleeves extending around the back into a cool reverse-racerback design.

Recently my family headed to Arches National Park for a little hiking and sightseeing. March is an amazing time of year to visit the Moab, Utah area, allowing you to play in nearly perfect temperatures without getting overheated.

I knew layering my favorite Stonewear pieces would be the perfect way to best equip myself for this day-long adventure. You simply can’t beat the comfort (for the  two hour road trip coming and going) and durability (for scrambling after my 3-year-old fearless rock climber) of the Rockin’ Capri. And although it hadn’t been warm enough at home yet to wear it, I was excited to put my Velocity Top to the test on this outing.

Although the temps aren’t soaring yet, this top is about as cool as they come. And it’s very lightweight.  The fabric and fit truly make it ideal for outdoor hikes, or even running–really any time you’ll work up a sweat but want your top to dry quickly afterward. And for a similar sleeveless option, you might want to check out the Turbo Tank.

As if that weren’t enough, you have one more big advantage to the Velocity Top waiting for you: you’re going to look great when you head out to dinner that same night, in your same clothes!  The only downside to the Velocity Top?   It is much, much too difficult to pick which *one* color to order.  A nice problem to have.
