Congrats to our 2013-2014 Stonewear Designs Ambassadors!

Tali Koziol yoga bhakti noire

Tali Koziol joins us from Lakewood, Colo. where she lives with her fiancé and their four fur kids. As a yoga teacher, Tali enjoys helping others. “I hope to empower people to love themselves and keep moving, eating well, and getting out of their comfort zones to live the most optimally vital life possible,” she says. And that’s how being active helps her, “I’m an over thinker, she says. “Staying active gets me out of my brain and more connected to my emotions, physical body, and intuition. I trust my senses more and am able to just let the world unfold with more ease.” She looks forward to helping others discover these things in her work as a Stonewear ambassador.

Outside of yoga, Tali enjoys cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, reading, biking, hiking, climbing, and SUP and SUP yoga.

Some fun Tali facts:

Her favorite quote: Be humble, for you are made of earth. Be noble, for you are made of stars. -Serbian Proverb

She likes to work out to “Storytime” by Nightwish, favors kale chips and mac and cheese, and loves animals!

Amanda Renner Ambassador Headshot

Amanda Renner is a Post Production Coordinator living in Venice, Calif. with her boyfriend and their dog in a small bungalow lovingly referred to as “Tiny House.” To her, staying active means staying sane. If she isn’t climbing, hiking, cycling or exploring the urban playground that is Los Angeles, you can find her reading, baking, taking photographs, or planning the next adventure for her “Los Angeles Hikers’ Circle” group.  Through her ambassadorship with Stonewear, she hopes to encourage and inspire more women to pursue adventures of their own.  This year, Amanda will be using her “we’ve got this” attitude while summiting Mount Whitney, hosting Dirtbag Thanksgiving, and cross-country skiing in Yosemite.

Some fun Amanda facts:

When training, nothing keeps her pedaling faster or climbing harder than “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift– a guilty pleasure she’s been able to keep secret until now!

Favorite food: Pepperoni pizza.

Beth Bault Ambassador Headshot

After spending six months as nomads, Beth Bault and her husband settled down in Ridgway, Colo. with their dog Sprocket. The new Coloradan enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities–but reserves a special spot in her heart for hiking and backpacking. “The mountains are my favorite place to be, but I’ve also enjoyed some wonderful desert adventures,” she says. “I also have an on again, off again relationship with running. One of my goals this year is to push that into a permanently ‘on’ position and run a marathon.”

When she’s not outside, Beth is reading–mostly about natural history, the environment, and local history.

“When I’m active, I feel happier, healthier, and more inspired. It can be all too easy to fall into a pattern of work-home-sleep with no time for a workout or activity. There are always pressures of things to ‘get done’ but I have found that prioritizing taking a hike over running errands often pays off in much more valuable ways,” she says. This year, Beth has some exciting plans in the works: she plans on running the Ouray County race series–culminating in the Mt. Sneffel’s Marathon, going into business with her husband, and going on some mountain climbing adventures.

Some fun Beth facts:

Her favorite food: lamb saag.

Favorite quote:

Do you know a cure for me? Why yes, he said, I know a cure for everything. Salt water. Salt water? I asked him. Yes, he said, in one form or another, sweat, tears or the salt sea. – Isak Dinesen

Beth documents her outdoor adventures with her husband and beloved dog on her blog 3Up Adventures. Drop Beth a line on Twitter @3UpAdventures.

Terri Barry Ambassador Headshot

Terri Barry, an environmental scientist, bona fide math geek, and jack-of-all-trades outdoorswoman lives in a small town near Sacramento, Calif with her husband. Ever the adventurer, Terri says if she’s not actually climbing, she’s thinking about climbing! “I’ve com ego realize I’ll ditch just about anything to go climbing,” she says. “Of course, family does come first!” While she loves her time at the crag, she also enjoys running, sculling, and backpacking. Terri finds most of her inspiration in senior athletes. When she started running track in her 50s, she attended her first USATF Masters National Track Meet in Orono, Maine, “the women in their 70s and beyond were running the hurdles, doing the long and high jump–it was just mind blowing!” she says. “That changed my definition of ‘possible.’ I want that to be me.” Her bucket list as a Stonewear ambassador is pretty lengthy, but she most looks forward to trips to Devils Tower, Bear Creek Spire, Mt. Tom, and the American Alpine Club’s Pinecrest Climb-in and Barbecue at Royal Robins’ cabin. Also, she’ll be running her twelfth marathon in December–the California International Marathon.

Some fun Terri facts:

She’s a shy person–something most people wouldn’t guess considering she’s quite active on social media!

She doesn’t really listen to music while she runs, but when she’s erging, she enjoys “Original Prankster” by The Offpsring.

Favorite food: Copper River Salmon.

Erica Lineberry, also known as “Cragmama,” is a rock climber and writer who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and 3-year-old son. This outdoorsy woman loves the way fresh air makes her feel, and finds joy in discovering what kinds of things her body can accomplish. Outside of rock climbing, writing, and mothering, Erica mountain bikes, runs, practices yoga, hikes, paddles, camps, and gardens. Erica has an exciting year coming up (more to come on that later!), and is excited to wear Stonewear throughout all her endeavors.

Some fun facts about Erica:

She’s a Trango Extraordinary Climbing athlete, loves working out to the Beastie Boys and old school hip-hop (she likes to move it to Sir Mix-A-Lot!), once gigged as a djembe player in a traditional African drumming band, and finds that pizza with all the fixins is her fave thing after a day on the rocks.

Shay Skinner Ambassador Headshot

Shay Skinner, a California-born, Colorado-raised outdoorswoman, fell in love with “living in and through nature” in her early 20s. “Staying active in the outdoors allows me to constantly discover more about who I am as a human being, sister, lover, friend, and most of all, woman,” she says. “I always try to walk away with a lesson learned, a memory created, or a breath I will never forget.”

This photographer and adventurer does it all: trail running, swimming, camping, backpacking, climbing, Ultimate Frisbee, and snowboarding. As an ambassador, Shay looks forward to tackling some of her bigger goals, like completing a first ascent or Ironman, and establishing herself as a female adventure photographer. But, at the end of the day, she says, it’s something more that truly matters to her, “There’s something about adventure and nature that allows humans to connect, so I simply want to encourage others to challenge themselves and never stop living.”

Some fun Shay facts:

Her favorite workout song: “Float On” by Iron Horse.

Favorite food? Homemade popcorn in coconut oil topped with nutritional yeast, salt, sage, and thyme.

And her “weird” tidbit: She loves licking envelopes–she thinks they taste good!

SWDlynx

Amelia Mayer lives with her husband and two young boys (aged 2 and 4) and yellow lab, Katmai, in Yellowstone National Park.  She believes whole-heartedly in the fact that outdoor time as a family makes everyone happier, and she loves to encourage all families to spend as much time in the fresh air as possible.  Amelia also knows that staying active means that she is a better wife, mom, and woman and so does so without fail (otherwise no one is happy!), “I also hope that the message I send to my kids (without words) leads them to live a full and active life,” she says. Amelia runs, bikes, practices Pilates, hikes, skis, camps, blogs (check out Tales of a Mountain Mama), and enjoys taking photos and digital scrapbooking. This year, Amelia hopes to run her first half-marathon, train for a triathlon, and juggling her kiddos. She also hopes to further pursue her new-found love of mountain biking.

Her favorite quote: “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.” -John Muir

Favorite workout song: “Hey Ya” by Outkast. “It makes me bump up the workout and start dancing every time!” she says.

Favorite food: Right now she’s crazy about peaches and could easily eat six a day.
